Role Overview

We are looking for a Data Scientist that will help us discover the information hidden in vast amounts of data, and help us make smarter decisions to deliver even better products. Your primary focus will be in applying data mining techniques, conducting statistical analysis, and building high quality prediction systems integrated with our products.

As you mine, interpret, and clean our data, we will rely on you to ask questions, connect the dots, and uncover opportunities that lie hidden within—all with the ultimate goal of realizing the data’s full potential. You will work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment so be ready to challenge the status quo. The successful candidate is a technical expert that uses their analytical mind, mathematical and statistical expertise with their exceptional communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to identify and implement innovative and practical solutions to meet the needs of our clients.

What You'll Be Doing

• Analyze data for trends and patterns; Interpret data with a clear objective in mind
• Collaborate with other departments to build upon our data collection, storage, and processing infrastructure
• Collaborate with product management and IT engineering departments to understand company needs and devise possible solutions
• Communicate analytic solutions to stakeholders and implement improvements as needed to corporate analytical capabilities
• Communicate results and ideas to key decision makers
• Data mining using state-of-the-art methods
• Develop, manage and maintain Machine Learning infrastructure
• Devise and utilize algorithms and models to mine big data stores, perform data and error analysis to improve models, and clean and validate data for uniformity and accuracy
• Doing ad-hoc analysis and presenting results in a clear manner
• Identify relevant data sources and sets to mine for client business needs, and collect large structured and unstructured datasets and variables
• Implement analytical models into production by collaborating with software developers and IT department
• Implement statistical or other mathematical methodologies to implement for specific models
• Keep up-to-date with latest technology trends
• Leverage corporate expertise to utilize data holdings of the organization
• Partnering with third party to further develop the data mining capabilities
• Processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis
• Research and develop statistical learning models for data analysis and implement predictive algorithm
• Subject Matter Expert in creating various regression Machine Learning techniques and data analysis methods
   

What You Bring to BGRS

• Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Math or related field
• 7+ years’ practical experience with ETL, data processing, database programming and data analytics
• Proficiency with data mining, mathematics, and statistical analysis
• Able to understand various data structures and common methods in data transformation
• Advanced pattern recognition and predictive modeling experience
• Experience with programming languages
• Excellent understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms and toolkits
• Experience with common data science toolkits, such as R, MatLab, Python-pandas, etc.
• Experience with data visualization tools, such as Power BI, QlikView, etc.
• Proficiency in using query languages such as SQL
• Good applied statistics skills, such as distributions, statistical testing, regression, etc.
• Great communication and data oriented personality
