Role Overview
 

As a Resource Manager, you will contribute to BGRS’ success by being responsible for resource planning and allocation, assigning people to projects based on skills, experience, availability, project deliverables, and project budget.

Reporting to the Director, Program Management Office, you will support the PMO department's goal of achieving quality and consistency of all projects by delivering successful projects within scope and budget and with exceptional quality creating an excellent internal project experience.


What You'll Be Doing

 

  • Capacity planning to ensure the project team’s resources have enough capacity to deliver upcoming projects.
  • Partner closely with Project Managers, IT and business Leadership to understand the project work and needs to ensure the correct team has been assembled.
  • Assign resources to projects and obtain approval from the resource’s direct People Manager on the assignment
  • Work closely with Director, PMO and Human Resources to define project roles and responsibilities for employees assigned to projects.
  • Resolve any issues regarding under or over allocation of project resources. This may include reallocating resources, adjusting goals or requirements, or assigning new people to the team.
  • Planning team capacity and forecasting recruitment needs for the projects.
  • Partner with Human Resources/Talent Acquisition on open requisitions keeping them informed of changing talent needs. Participate in the recruitment of new employees, ensuring the hiring of appropriate talent for current and future projects.
  • Managing the resources to align with project timelines and ensuring any capacity gaps to keep to the schedule are either filled or escalated appropriately.
  • Generate and analyze reports to effectively manage resources.

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of project administration and resource management experience.

  • Proactive conflict-resolution and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Detail oriented and comfortable working with reports and analyzing data
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to plan strategically
  • Resourceful in getting tasks done through multi-tasking and creative thinking skills

 

Technology Skills:

  • Experience in various project development methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Iterative, etc.)
  • Demonstrated technical experience in IT or familiar with software development lifecycles
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required

 

Social and Emotional Skills:

  • Strong customer service skills with a proven ability to create and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders
  • Able to communicate, influence, and listen to the internal stakeholders
