Role Overview

As a Solutions Architect, you will contribute to BGRS’ success by leading the solution design and implementation for complex systems, platforms and would interact with key business stakeholders, design teams, development and QA teams on a variety of projects in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have strong business & technology acumen and can translate business vision and strategy into effective technology change by creating, communicating and improving the key requirements, principles and models that describe the enterprises future state and enable its evolution.

The Solutions Architect will define how those capabilities will be built and will support timely delivery of those capabilities and solutions including participating in planning and requirements definition in collaboration with business owners and product managers to ensure that the time and effort of the Solutions Delivery teams is producing the greatest value and is in alignment with the overall strategy.


What You'll Be Doing
 

  • Analyze current technologies used within the company and determine ways to improve
  • Document and monitor requirements needed to institute proposed updates
  • Manages activities that take place during solution ideation, solution design, and solution implementation.
  • This involves leading solution meetings with clients and technology partners for technical design and implementation.
  • Understand the business's economic and financial levers that are susceptible to digital transformation to effectively support and guide technology investment decisions.
  • Lead analysis of the current IT environment and future-state capabilities to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for business improvement.
  • To facilitate discussion and decision making with stakeholders across the enterprise.roadmapsWork with business peers to develop and present business capability models and
  • (presenting solution to business and capabilities of what we have and provide options – ineraction with the busness)
  • Lead analysis of the IT environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement.
  • Design and construct future- and current-state business models to practically apply new and emerging technologies to drive them.
  • Researches and recommends new technologies to achieve improved architectural performance while effectively managing the associated costs of IT operations across the enterprise.
  • Keeps abreast of technology, customer needs, and industry-related trends.
  • Escalates technical issues to senior leadership as needed along with insight on recommended resolutions.
  • Engages and manages strong business relationships with stakeholders to ensure high levels of service, response, driving the overall success of the business and technical strategies.
  • Collaborates with IT project stakeholders in the development and evaluation of technical solutions.
  • Provides consultation and strategic guidance to clients and other senior staff in addressing complex, enterprise-level systems engineering and technical integration challenges.
  • Supports technical teams in investigating, analyzing, defining, designing and implementing technology solutions to create greater alignment between technology and business goals.
  • Guides to the technical team and promotes continuous improvement to help the technical team increase productivity and foster innovation.
  • Encourages open lines of communication between all team members; facilitates discussions and resolves conflicts accordingly.
  • Mentors senior technical staff and provides support as an escalation point for critical technical issues.



What You Bring to BGRS

  • BA/BS degree in a technology related discipline such as Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Systems, etc. or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in designing and developing enterprise-level applications using .NET, C#, WPF, WCF, MVC, and SOA or Microservices with Rest or SOAP and SQL Server
  • Demonstrated knowledge & architecture experience in:
    • Architecture (micro / macro / monolithic services, APIs),
    • Service oriented architecture,
    • Event driven architecture,
    • SOLID principles,
    • Data architecture and modeling,
    • Integration patterns and best practices
  • Knowledge and experience with Iterative SDLC methodologies such as Agile disciplines.
  • Experience developing IT and cloud infrastructure (SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, and other cloud environments)
  • Current understanding of best practices regarding system security measures
  • Experience in software engineering and design architecture
  • Expertise with a broad base of digital web and mobile products, technologies, platforms, patterns, frameworks, and methodologies.
  • Experience with single sign-on systems, role-based access management systems, and PII data security best practices.
  • Expertise with typical multi-tier architectures: web servers, caching, application servers, load balancers, and storage.
  • Ability to translate business needs into architecture requirements
  • Ability to estimate the financial impact of architecture alternatives
  • Ability to rapidly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies
  • Applicable knowledge of the technologies used by the assigned team
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work on cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to research and resolve issues\
  • Strong/effective problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to anticipate customer needs and proactively develop solutions to meet them
  • Positive outlook in meeting challenges and working to a high level
  • Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders at all levels within the organization.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage multiple streams of work.
  • Experience with User Centered Design practices is an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple technology priorities across all business divisions and shared service departments.
  • Knowledge of ITIL Service Management principles is an asset.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and time spent outside of comfort zone acquiring new skills
  • Technically creative and open-minded
