Role Overview

As a Corporate Accountant, you will contribute to BGRS’ success by supporting the accounting on a portfolio of the company’s domestic and international relocation operations and associated financial reporting.

What You'll Be Doing

  • The Corporate Accounting team is responsible for providing high quality customer service through delivery of the following functions:
  • Accounting operations, monthly close activities, and related analysis;
  • Consolidated reporting to the parent company;
  • Technical accounting research and analysis;
  • Support of the company-wide internal controls program, including participation in the drafting, review and/or testing of current processes and controls;
  • Support of the relationship with the company’s external auditors and the statutory reporting processes for the company’s global operations.
  • The particular functions of the role are expected to include:
  • Corporate Accountant-Production Team
  • Working with a team of professionals delivering the financial accounting and reporting requirements of the global group of relocation companies, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing general accounting and administrative support through transaction processing, reconciliation, analysis, research, reporting, and process improvement activities
  • Accounting operations, monthly close activities and related analysis
  • Complete the bank and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Process journal entries as part of the month end & non month end closing process
  • Assist with the preparation of statutory audits
  • Prepare intercompany analysis and reconciliations
  • Ensure proper updates of all policies and procedures

Internal Controls

  • Support the business and finance teams in assessing internal controls, providing recommendations, and in implementing new control strategies where necessary;
  • Applying observations and recommendations to operational issues, particularly concerning areas of risk and controls.

 

What You Bring to BGRS

  • Bachelor/Master’s degree in commerce, accounting or similar, with completed professional accounting designation (CPA, CA or equivalent preferred );
  • Minimum 2-4 years’ total experience in finance/accounting positions, , preferably in the Service Industry with an international company, or 1-2 years post-CPA/CA qualification experience in public accounting;
  • Independent, proactive and well organized with strong analytical and effective decision-making skills;
  • Ability to work collaboratively across lines of business and functions;
  • Excellent communication skills – written, verbal and presentation;
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast paced environment;
  • Strong knowledge of MS office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint;
  • Experience with Microsoft D365 is a plus;
  • To be successful in this role, the candidate should be a self-starter who can adapt to changing environments and technology with ease. The candidate should possess a positive attitude and conduct themselves with a high degree of professionalism.

  • Open to work for second shift starting at 5.30 pm and ready to stretch during month close and when the key process deliverables
