Role Overview

A member of the IT business intelligence team, the Junior Developer, Business Intelligence participates in the design, development and maintenance of the corporate business intelligence platforms and technologies. The Junior Developer will have experience with the common database platforms but also have specialized skills in one or more BI technologies used at BGRS

What You'll Be Doing

• Participate in the design, development and maintenance of BI technology solutions
• Participate in 3rd level support for BI Reporting platforms
• Participate in system Maintenance and development activities as required
• Maintain a high level of technical expertise on the Microsoft SQL Server Database specific technologies and languages
• Maintain a high level of technical expertise on one or more ETL Reporting, Analysis, data management and/or data transformation technologies
• Strive to develop solutions with a high quality level, aligned with business needs and free of bugs and performance issues
• Support BI Management in developing, maintaining and the enforcement of BI Delivery best practices
• Responsible for source control management and performing code reviews
• Provide mentorship and leadership to other members of the team
• Perform team Lead activities as required
• Demonstrate knowledge of the BGRS BI architecture and understand system interdependencies and relationships across the platform.

What You Bring to BGRS

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work experience
• Minimum 3 years’ experience working in an ETL or a reporting or data analytics support and development role
• Minimum 3 years’ experience with Microsoft SQL Server, performing Schema design and TSQL Query and Store Procedure development and optimization
• Work experience of at least 3 years with SQL Server in a BI environment
• Familiar with Data Warehousing concepts and design approaches such as dimensional design, normalized design and “Agile” BI
• Experience using Microsoft TFS and Visual Studio for source control and development activities
• Minimum 2 years’ experience with one or more of the following technologies:
• Business Objects R3.1 or R4.0 Universe Design & Web Intelligence Reporting
• Microsoft SSIS
• Microsoft SQL BI Technologies such as Analysis Services, Reporting Services, PowerBI Server
• Must have sound analysis, problem resolution, judgement and decision-making skills.
• Display high degree of Confidence and ability to work in ambiguous situations
• Ability to rapidly assimilate new information and new techniques
