Role Overview

Extended Business Travelers are individuals traveling on business for periods of varying lengths, and often to multiple countries, with the potential to be exposed to other jurisdiction’s tax regimes. Tax authorities are increasingly monitoring such travelers and companies are actively managing these “stealth” mobile employees to mitigate the associated risks.

At BGRS, the Director, Extended Business Traveler (EBT) Compliance will oversee our internal EBT solution, TripWise. Leading the EBT team, this position will partner with stakeholders across multiple divisions to build awareness around the possible tax and immigration compliance implications for our clients and their employees. We will also rely heavily on this role to act as the organizational subject matter expert on EBT matters, trends, and the TripWise solution that we offer to current and prospective clients. As a result, the Director will lead and participate in presentations to current and prospective clients, so must have both the ability to present professionally and build engaging relationships.

What You'll Be Doing

  • TripWise and EBT expert for current, prospective and future clients.
  • Leads presentations via face-to-face and virtual meetings with clients and prospects.
  • Facilitate communication and partnership across Client Development, Client Services, and financial teams to share updates, trends and changes related to EBT and the TripWise solution.
  • Lead implementation efforts for new EBT business for successful client onboarding.
  • Work with contracts, operations and the client to determine accurate scope of services, document service delivery, and transition implementation of new TripWise services.
  • Lead team to manage delivery of client reporting and reviews, policy optimization proposals, service related projects, and accurate and timely billing.
  • Partner with tax and immigration partners to ensure compliance.
  • Work with direct reports on escalations, queries, complex case management, and complex cost projection management.
  • People Leadership- appropriately planning and organizing work, coaching and development, and acting as a champion of internal BGRS people processes.


What You Bring to BGRS

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in global assignment management or similar responsibility in a customer service role in the mobility arena
  • Understanding of international compensation, social security, tax, immigration, balance sheets, assignment package preparation, assignment process, international payroll/allowance calculations
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills
  • Ability to develop strong internal and external relationships with key contacts
  • Must excel in communicating clearly and concisely, in both verbal and written communications
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills
  • Ability to understand, document, and train process flows in a high volume environment
  • Sensitivity to the needs of culturally diverse customers and clients
  • Some travel to client locations may be required
  • Because this position has a global reach, some home office/off hours will be required
